Thick hair is not something which is only in demand on your head. According to the current beauty ideal, eyebrows should look as thick and full as possible, too. Above all, this affects our female patients who are now having to face their plucking sins of the past, unsuccessful attempts at permanent make-up, or who naturally have more patchy brows. At the HAARZENTRUM AN DER OPER, we offer two different opportunities to bring your brows back into shape. As a side note, we recommend that permanent pigmentation be removed by laser prior to treatment when it comes to permanent make-up mistakes.
Method 1 Process: DIRECTIN
With the so-called DirectIN method, the hair follicles required for the transplantation are removed from the donor area, temporarily stored on a sterile tray, and subsequently inserted into the predetermined areas.
Method 2 Process: DIRECT HAIR IMPLANTATION
Conversely, with the direct hair implantation method, one hair follicle is extracted at a time and then immediately implanted into the recipient area.
With both methods, the crucial factor is the observance of the direction of growth, which is critical when it comes to the natural appearance of the brows.
Preparation
To reduce the risk of possible complications to a minimum, no acetylsalicylic acid-containing painkillers should be taken for ten days before the eyebrow transplant. What’s more, we recommend that all patients refrain from drinking alcohol or smoking cigarettes the evening prior to the transplant.
Anaesthesia
The eyebrow transplant is usually carried out under local anaesthetic as an outpatient.
After the treatment
As a general principle, it is advised that you refrain from physical exertion for a few days after the operation. You can expect to see the first new hairs approximately four to six weeks after implantation. The final result is then apparent in the course of one year.
Washing your face for the fiirst time
You may wash your face again as usual on the fourth day after the transplant. It is recommended that you use as mild a cleanser as possible to do so. Important: be gentle when cleansing the transplant area so as not to prematurely remove the scab.
Aftercare
As with every implantation in our practice, detailed photo documentation also takes place before and after the treatment when it comes to eyebrows.
